The Mashraba Team
The company is owned by Ed Poore and Mats Fischer. Ed has been diving for 15 years and is a PADI Course Director and one of only a handful of Technical diving Instructor Trainers in the Middle East. He spends most of his time concentrating on teaching Poseidon’s Instructor Programs. Ed also has a business background having spent 7 years managing projects for the BBC. Mats has been diving for 20 years and is almost a native Egyptian – his diving has been commercial as well as recreational. With them is a team that is not only very experienced but great fun to dive, work and socialize with.

As a Swede with a German name among Egyptians, Brits, Americans and Dutch here in Sinai, I find the diversity and the friendly atmosphere here in Dahab truly great. At Poseidon I’m working with the various tasks of the office as well as handling repairs and renovations of the Dive Center.
And as a proud owner of the Advanced Bubblemaker certification my previous passion for the amazing wonders of the ocean has now emerge into a genuine love affair! No doubt by the time you arrive we will have swapped many emails so make sure you put your head in the office and say hi.
Bob
Hi, my name is Bob and I’m a Dutch (Staff) Instructor at Poseidon.
I learned diving 7 years ago while I was traveling around the world. It was in Malaysia, the Perhentian islands. This first magic moment, breathing underwater, I’ll never forget! After this fantastic experience, I was hooked and spent every holiday on diving. I’ve been to many places, mostly in Asia. I liked diving so much that I decided to make my job out of my hobby and since two years I work as a pro! I started in Thailand, Ko Lanta and after a year I went to Dahab. I like it here so much, it’s super relaxed, friendly people and the dive sites are excellent. I think there is no better place in the world to learn diving. I really love teaching, seeing students becoming real divers in just four days; it’s such a satisfying feeling! I hope to see you at Poseidon, the best dive center in Dahab!
Synthia
The first time under water 5 years ago I felt like I was in a different world. This feeling still keeps on every single time I am under water teaching or guiding. As a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor I have this opportunity every single day in the relaxed atmosphere of Dahab. It’s just a great and relaxing world! I love to show you this amazing place! Hope to see you soon in the paradise of the Red Sea!
Naomi
When given the choice between another boring office job back home in England or pursuing a career as a PADI Instructor in the beautiful Red Sea, there was no contest! So now I’m working as a Divemaster here at Poseidon and planning to become an MSDT in the very near future. I think Dahab is just perfect: the sun shines all year round, the diving is absolutely amazing and life can be as exciting or as laid back as you want it to be!
Amir
I was born in Port Said which is a small city by the sea side in the North of Egypt, and have dived most reefs of the Red Sea. I love the blue water and the blue sky, I’ve been a PADI professional for four years, enjoy teaching all courses which I am qualified as a Master Scuba Diver Trainer, and always enjoy looking at the wide eyes and the big smiles on my students face after an amazing dive in the colourful red sea through the most chilled diving at poseidon……!!!!
Steph
I’m the resident Texan here trying to teach people how to scuba dive in between teaching people the difference between country and western music! I’ve been diving for over 12 years and presently I am a Master Scuba Diver Trainer. I love teaching scuba and I love being in the greatest sea on earth – the Red Sea!! Come for a visit and we’ll show you a whole new underwater world…
Rachel
If my parents ask, I am here to improve my Arabic. If anyone else asks why I am here, the appropriate Egyptian response is “Why not?” I am from California, so adapting to the Dahab lifestyle has been relatively easy. I work at the Poseidon counter which means that I will greet you with a smile, a cup of tea and a scuba kit. And when the diving is over, I am also a bartender so I can serve you cold beer at the bar next door.
Nader
I’m from Cairo and I have been working at Poseidon Divers since 2006 as the finance manager & now I’m a PADI Divemaster. I really enjoy working here a lot. About my languages, I speak English, Italian & Arabic.
I can be found in the office ensuring that all the accounts are in order - without my work none of you would get a bill so be nice to me!
